History

The idea of Alphavillage came from the restoration of a degraded area of the Atlantic Forest at a farm in Itu, São Paulo. The area was acquired in 1994 and comprised degraded pastures and small fragments of reminiscent forest. In order to develop this project, we had to recover the area and reforest it, with native species. This has been one of our most important projects. In the last years, some 12 thousand trees have been planted. Today the reforestation process uses seedlings extracted from our own nursery. The area works as a base for the reforestation process that continues to recover all the degraded land.

With IBAMA as a partner and a veterinarian technical support, the land was classified as an area suitable for wildlife release. Since then, ALPHAVILLAGE has received various animal species and some endangered birds. For those animals that cannot survive yet in their habitats, ALPHAVILLAGE provides a structure for survival and reproduction in captivity.
